Although I consider myself a beat nerd, I'm not much of a production snob. I'm not a musician. I'm a producer and singer-songwriter. (Although my lead vocals are rarely ever sung. I don't mean that in a derogatory way. It's just who I am.)
I started music production back in 2006 as my primary profession. I used to do it as a hobby but I got into it more as a trade and as a source of income. These days, I focus on writing, performing, and recording for the recording company I work for. That company also performs as a septet that I co-direct.
I believe in high quality music that intrigues people. I hate sophomoric shit like the kind of music you often hear in sketchy bars on the Sunset Strip. I can't stand songs that don't do anything.
I'm a social misfit. My hobbies include reading, writing, playing guitar, bouncing around a lot, eating, staring off into space, and laughing uncontrollably. I spend a lot of time alone, which has given me the opportunity to hone my self-writing skills. I write quite a lot; I have a good stockpile of short stories. My music is my way of constricting those stories into an album. I'm trying my hand at pop but I'm pretty proud of my R&B-style material. I released a few songs last year and I already have another release scheduled for next year.
I think I'm a pretty good writer. My stories are about myself, which can be hard for 50-year-old guys to relate to because they're dealing with issues they've never had to face... stuff that has never happened to them. They aren't as fun as the stuff I write. That's pretty evident because I only have one story out and it's not very good. It's not about you, or about something you've never faced. It's about me as a writer. I'm not as good at it as I think I am. d2c66b5586
